For years, many tried to make sure that Juhu becomes one of the cleanest beaches in the city. However, one stranded ship turned the tides overnight, literally. Sometime in June 2011, cargo vessel MV Wisdom that was headed to the Alang ship breaking yard at Gujarat was stranded and strayed over to one of the busiest and most popular beaches in suburban Mumbai. The 145-meter long cargo vessel created a furor as the unmanned vessel made life hell for the coast guard and beach lovers. With the tides turning high, the 9,000 ton ship finally left the shores, but not without leaving an indelible mark. The vendors’ business flourished by over four times, a 15 year old child lost his life to curiosity and we were left with hordes of crowds that loitered the beach silly!

Thanks Sosha, lets just say that my skills of commuting on mumbai’s public transport helped here. I pushed and shoved my way up to the front. Plus you get extra brownie points when you strut around with a DSLR 😛
