Weekly Photo Challenge: Morning 2

OK! I am very inspired with all the posts for the theme of the week, and so let me present to you a  very typically South Indian Breakfast. On the plate is Idlies, Ulundu wada, Sambhar, Chutney, bread-butter and Ven-Pongal. I had trouble adjusting the lighting so the picture has come out grainy. What a wholesome way to end a chilly, rain-kissed and fun vacation!

Fascinating to see how another part of another continent breakfasts —
Very fine, grainy or not —

  2. Hmmmm, looks interesting and very cultural. Perhaps you may be so kind as to describe each of the foods (save the white bread which we all recognise). Thanks!

Sure shemto, This is what the plate has: (starting from the white bread with salted yellow butter in clockwise direction ) Ven Pongal (a rice preparation, that is seasoned with while herbs like black pepper corns and curry leaves), idlies, medu vada, followed by coconut chutney and a bowl of sambhar 🙂 now i’m super hungry!!

I love this cultural breakfast. I certainly would enjoy that because it is a mixture of sweet and savory – love that. Looks so so so good!!!
