Nainital in the snow clad region of Uttarakhand, India offers the most amazing scenes of natural beauty and life, and is also a thriving hub for excellent education. This photo depicts the abundance of existence in a location perched high up on a hilly region!

I loved your intepretation of the topic too 🙂
This is Nainital, the capital of Uttarakhand, about 10 hrs of ride south east of delhi. If you are a Jim Corbett fan, he has written some lovely encounters with deadly man-eaters (tigers/lepoards) based in the lovely town…If you do visit, you will not be disappointed 🙂

Here is a full blown account of my visit….it is a tad bit too detailed, that may be a reason why that blog gets neglected, time has become a rather precious comodity really!

I took this pic en-route the Nainital Zoo, which is one of the highest altitude zoo’s in all of India (may be in all of Asia too but i can’t be too sure of that really!)
I loved your intepretation of refuge, although as much as i love my profession, i would love to see less of my work desk 😦 sigh, guess some things come as a part of the bargain!

Nice picture. I have never been to North India (sadly)… the farthest I have gone to is Mumbai with most of time being spent on Bangalore’s streets 🙂
