The love for cars that the kings of Udaipur have is not a hidden fact. Apparently, in the good old days, the hood ornament was a representative for what the car was used for. A polo player mounted on a horse meant that the king was on his way for a polo match. Likewise for hunting, the hood ornament was just swapped as the need arose.
