Cricket Fever

I love cricket, just like every other regular Indian my age. What irks me most though, is how I lauded for my interest, despite being a girl. The sport has changed over the years, and gone are the days when unfit men would not dive to stop the ball from crossing the boundary line. All you need to do is watch two IPL games to see players plucking the ball out of thin air, changing the course of the game in a split second.

So this is my ode to the spectacle that is cricket. Angry bowlers, explosive batsmen, the keeper – the unsung hero, the quick cats, the spilled catches from the strongest fielders, sledging, the all-watching umpires, and of course the cute cheer leaders, we’ve got it all!
