When you visit St. Mary’s Island off Malpe, Karnataka, you realize how connected the world truly was; in the physical sense. Popularly known as the Coconut Island and Thonsepar, these four small islands have been formed from columnar basaltic lava. It is said that the basalt was created by sub-aerial sub-volcanic activity, from Madagascar, which was a part of India; and drifted about roughly 88 million years ago.
