If you ever take time off to visit the Haji Ali Dargah, apart from the manat ka dhaga, you can offer a chaddar too. A chaddar is noting but a shinning piece of cloth that covers the tomb inside the main dargah. While it is not a customary practice, some people also offer ikhtar or scent as offerings. The entire atmosphere there is festive, and even though it is a bit too commercial for my liking, its sanctity is still magically preserved.
Your posts are fascinating, Kamakshi. They offer so many interesting details that go way beyond dry facts!
