Commuting Locally

Local trains are the nerve center of the city. It takes millions of people through the entire island city in considerably no time at all! I commute western railway everyday for a good 11 years now (I have been on Harbour line and Central trains but not very often), I have been a regular in trains that leave at particular times for long periods at a stretch. Needless to say, there are several friends I have made on my commutes, and yes I hold them very dear, whether I continue to travel with them or not. So this post is a big shout out to all my “Train Friends”! Mumbai is a funny city that way!

With so many straps to hold — I assume that the trains are very very crowded?
It’s true that the people you commute with become a real part of your life —

You really do have a talent for giving an ordinary scene an extraordinary and unique quality. I’ve never been to India but I’ve seen (on TV) how crowded the trains get. This scene is uniquely Indian and you captured it perfectly. 🙂
