The Foothills of Kumaon

The Queen of Kumaon,  Nainital is one of the most beautiful and serene places to visit. Engulfed between the Naina peak at the north, Deopatha at the west, and Ayarpatha on the south, the calm and serene lake is at its soothing best as the sin rises marking the beginning of another eventful day! Nainital is also known as the Tri-Rishi-Sarovar. A popular folklore as per the Manas Khand goes that the three rishis (sages) Atri, Pulastya and Pulaha stopped at Nainital en-route to Tibet. On finding no water to drink, they dug up a hole and filled it with water from the holy lake Mansarovar. It today it is believed that a dip at the Nainital is just as good as a dip in the Mansarovar itself.
